Beijing provides an exciting combination of history and modern civilization. This vibrant city has been China’s capital city for more than eight centuries, so you can find some of the best relics of the nation’s imperial history here. Some of the ancient landmarks and structures include the Ming Tombs, the Great Wall, and the Forbidden City. At Beijing, you will also see modern monuments like Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest modern square, and the Mao Memorial Hall. In addition, you should take a time to visit popular shopping districts like the Qianmen Street and Wangfujing Street as well as the Dirt Market.

Thailand has many dive sites. But one of the most famous is the Richelieu Rock. Many people refer to it as one of the best dive resorts in Asia because of the abundant marine species that gather together around the site. Richelieu is a horseshoe shaped dive site with an array of unique purple corals. The picturesque limestone rock, which gives the site its identity is visible below the surface of the water when the tide is low. Although diving is only permitted via dive tours that take off from Ranong or Phuket, you will be able to see a lot of whale sharks that come here to feed on the large population of plankton. The best time to come for diving is between October and May when the weather is warm.

Hanoi, Vietnam

old quarter
Hanoi is one of the most unique capital cities in southeast Asia because it has a mix of Chinese and French cultural influences as well as the local Vietnamese way of life. Some of the important attractions in Hanoi include the Old Quarter which has a network of streets created more than a thousand years ago. Well preserved remains of the Hanoi Citadel and the colonial architecture can be found very close to modern buildings and structures. This city is the only one in Southeast Asia that displays an embalmed ladder, which is located at the mausoleum that contains the Ho Chi Men, whose remains were preserved against his own desire to be cremated.

Those are some of the best places to visit in southeast Asia. Before you choose your preferred destination, you should make some enquiries about the best time to visit and how you can save cost through packaged tours and budget friendly accommodation.
